Hello, I am Leo Suykerbuyk, a kiwiberry grower for Hoogstraten. My parents have been growing berries since the 60s. After my studies and work in horticultural education, I grew strawberries as a secondary occupation together with my wife. We experienced the complete evolution from soil-based cultivation to cultivation on gutters, from open ground to tunnels and greenhouses. After some time, the rhythm of work had to be changed and better adapted to our situation. After collecting extensive information on various new crops, the kiwiberry came out as the ideal crop. The work in cultivation is mainly focused on a good daily crop pruning. This ensures controlled growth and ultimately good quality kiwiberries. For many years we have been working together with Coöperatie Hoogstraten, which stands for a professional organisation where only the highest quality product can find its way.
