Hello, I am Jimmy Gysbrechts, a kiwiberry producer for Coöperatie Hoogstraten since 2014. Before that, I was a strawberry producer from 1995 to 2012, but because soil fatigue started to play a significant role, I switched to an environmentally friendly and new product, namely kiwiberries. I chose the kiwiberry because I have a small-scale company and because it does not have high heating costs. My kiwiberries come from a protected cultivation (glass) and are a different variety than those from outside, namely Issai. In the summer, we mainly have to prune a lot and mow the grass twice a week. I still work in a factory, a full continuous system, and therefore I still have enough time to take care of the kiwiberries and sell them at auction in an environmentally friendly and high-quality manner.
