Hello, I am Rene Jansen and since 2014 strawberry grower for Hoogstraten. As the fourth son in line I started a mixed farm on a self-employed basis in 1990. Back then, we grew various products. Over the years, our farm has grown to 20 ha and is mainly focused on strawberries, because the fertile soil near the Mark valley benefits the quality and taste. With a permanent staff member who continuously manages a group during the harvest, I find more time to take care of the crops myself and my wife Meri does the administration and home sales of asparagus and strawberries. We have chosen Coöperatie Hoogstraten because there the quality and size is better and more honest. In my spare time I take care of the cattle and like to climb on the racing bike.
