Hello, we are Lu Adriaensen and Els Wynants, and together we grow both strawberries and cherries for the Hoogstraten Cooperative. Pruning trees, applying foliar fertilizer… we each have our own tasks in the orchard. When Els and I have a moment to spare, we enjoy going for a bike ride or a hike. Since its founding, Coöperatie Hoogstraten known for its strawberries, but in recent years other types of fruit, such as berries and cherries, have also become increasingly popular. In our quest for diversification, we’ve therefore turned to cherries. They’re the ideal complement to strawberry cultivation, and they’re a wonderful product to grow. All our cherries are grown under cover and harvested when ripe. They’re available from mid-June through the end of July and are perfect as a healthy snack. We fully embrace the philosophy of the Hoogstraten Cooperative; quality is very important to us, and we believe the strict standards we set for ourselves are a good thing.
