Meet Anton Ros. First and foremost, he is Anja's partner and the father of Anouk, Rick, and Sanne. But right behind that comes Anton the grower. Anton has been growing strawberries for Hoogstraten 2004 and does so with passion. He is one of those people who lists "growing strawberries" as a hobby. He gets up with it and goes to sleep with it, with Anja as his rock and support. During the picking season, Anton wakes up the rooster instead of the other way around, so that picking can start at 6 a.m. By then, Anton already knows exactly which variety everyone is going to pick. With a number of people working on your farm, it takes good coordination and planning every day, otherwise things can go seriously wrong. After picking, all the other tasks are taken care of: planting, crop care, maintenance and inspection of machines, irrigation, and administration. In short, he is often still working at 9 p.m. so that he can pick delicious Hoogstraten again the next day.
